New Lautman translation

Continuing the trend of publishing English translations of key texts in modern European philosophy, we are delighted to be publishing the first English translation of Albert Lautman's published works between 1933 and his untimely death at the hands of the Nazis in 1944 , collected together in Mathematics, Ideas and the Physical Real (translated by Simon Duffy). Lautman was a major figure in philosophy of mathematics and a key influence on Deleuze and Badiou, amongst others. His work played a crucial role in the history of contemporary French philosophy and his ideas remain a major touchstone in the development of contemporary engagements with mathematics. This collection of his major writings is long overdue in English and offers readers a much-needed insight into his influence on the development of mathematics and philosophy.
